Other Presentations

Hello Hello! It’s me again with this week’s blog, which are about 3 other presentations that the other students have done on their assigned theorists. The first is about Margaret Simmons. Margaret was mentioned on the first blog, but I’ll just give you a quick summary about her "Towards a Taxonomy of Blogs'. It basically is a web page that explains of the blogs that you make can be put under a category, for example, individuals who blog about products and/or services would be placed under the 'advertisement' category. If you would like to see what other categories there are and see where your blogs fit in here is the link:

The second theorist is Reep. Reep focuses on four features:

1. Technical Document
2. Design features of written texts
3. practical guide for writers
4. Author perspective

Reep also includes balance, proportion, sequence and consistency in order to help the writer create the most effective document and also to make the important information grab the reader’s attention. The third and final theorists are Taylor and Noble. These guys explain the advantages and disadvantages of 'E-Books'. First off e-books are documents available online, with one of the advantages being that e-books are able to be accessed easily and a disadvantage is that there is always the hassle of scrolling up and down the web page which could potentially ruin your eye sight.Taylor and Noble also talk about 'Print on Demand', which is a type of PDF file that the book is available in through a digital library.I hope you guys have learnt a few things in this week’s blog.

I'll catch you next week.Always, Summer x
